Client Accounting Manager

Salary: $75K - $85K DOE | 100% Remote | Flexible Schedule

The Role

As a Client Accounting Manager at Northwest Wine Accounting, you’ll be the go-to accounting expert for a group of winery clients. Your work will directly support winery owners in making informed financial decisions, improving their profitability, and growing their businesses. Wineries are complex, passion-driven businesses, and your expertise will help them navigate accounting challenges with confidence.

This is a hands-on accounting role where you’ll manage your own clients, but you won’t be working in isolation. You’ll collaborate closely with bookkeepers, advisors, and other client managers to ensure high-quality financials and a strong team environment. We believe in a culture of knowledge-sharing and mutual support.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process

  • Deliver financial statements and custom management reports

  • Meet with clients to review financials and answer questions

  • Reconcile sales and filing sales tax reports

  • Manage payroll administration

  • Manage cost and inventory accounting specific to winery operations

  • Solve client accounting issues with a pro-active, solutions-focused approach

  • Set up and optimize accounting technology and processes

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or post-baccalaureate certificate) required.

  • Winery experience is strongly preferred. However, we will consider candidates with experience in related inventory-based industries (breweries, distilleries, agriculture, or food & beverage manufacturing).

  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-client environment.

  • QBO expertise + comfort with tools like Bill.com, Ramp, Dext, and Gusto.

  • Knowledge of cost and inventory accounting—we can train on winery-specific details.

  • Great communicator who can confidently interact with clients.

  • Independent and solutions-oriented—you can handle the day-to-day, but we’ll work through complex issues as a team.
